The New York Yankees look like they are going to be out of the Manny Machado sweepstakes after signing infielder DJ Lamahieu to a two-year deal worth $24 million.
D.J. LeMahieu’s deal with the New York Yankees, which @JackCurryYES first reported, will be for two years in the $22-24 million range, league sources tell ESPN.
The former Rockies stalwart was one of the top defensive second baseman in the National League a year ago and will be deployed all over the infield for the Yankees, according to sources.
He also provides the Yankees with some more offensive punch as he’s a career .298 hitter who hit 15 homers a season ago with 62 RBI. He also won a batting title in Colorado back in 2016.
