The Boston Red Sox defeated starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez in his arbitration hearing on Wednesday in Arizona, meaning he’ll earn $8.3 million instead of the near-$9 million that he wanted.
Eduardo Rodriguez lost his arbitration case with the #RedSox, according to a source. He will receive the team’s offer of $8.3M, not his requested $8.975M.
Rodriguez broke out in a big way in 2019, going 19-6 to lead the team in wins. He pitched to a 3.81 ERA and had 213 strikeouts.
He profiles in as the number two starter this season, behind Chris Sale. The 26-year-old has two years of team control remaining.
We’ll discuss more this week on ‘The Huddle’ from 3-6 PM.
