Why AJ Puk is Tops in the NY-PL (AUDIO)

AJ Puk, first-round pick of the Oakland Athletics out of the University of Florida, spent the summer playing with the Vermont Lake Monsters in the New York-Penn League.

And this week, Puk was named the top prospect in the NY-PL. The left-hander can touch 98 MPH with his fastball but still does have some control issues to iron out.

We brought in Baseball America writer Mike Lananna, who is responsible for covering the NY-PL for the prominent baseball magazine, to talk about his rankings and we asked him about another Lake Monster this summer, Logan Shore.

Furthermore, we spoke with him about the Lake Monsters underachieving record and what that may be attributed to.
