Why the CFL Won’t Work in Vermont (AUDIO)

Remember three weeks ago when we had a Canadian radio host tell us that Vermont or Northern NY would be a good spot for a Canadian Football franchise?

Here’s why it made sense:

  1. Vermont’s proximity to Canada
  2. The CFL needs a 10th team, and one in the Eastern Conference, so geographically it makes sense
  3. The salary cap in the CFL is so low that an owner could realistically afford to bring a team in.

So could it actually happen? We found out from Mike Hogan of TSN 1050 in Toronto today. He is also the head of CFL reporting, so he has a good pulse on the situation.

And then we talked a little NHL and if Maple Leafs rookie Auston Matthews will start scoring again and just how good he is. And then I told him a little bit of CFL history in my family..
